11 weeks feels like forever

God took my best friend and husband of 23 1/2 years home to heaven on 12/26/12, after a one year battle with ALS. He was only 47. Our lives were full and as close to perfect as we could get on earth. Two wonderful teenagers...now our picture perfect family is distraught with grief. It's so much harder than I ever dreamed. The physical pain is intense. I have a strong faith and believe I will see my husband again, but I am in the valley of the shadow of death now and it's only God holding me up.

I is now 6 years, 3 months and 20 days since my husband was killed in an RTA, he was 48 and I feel so cheated. My thoughts and love go out to all that have lost a loved one xxx

I am sorry for your loss of your husband. The initial days are the worst ever. I was so busy running around registering the death, planning the funeral, and doing all the numerous administration that time passed quickly and then the days ahead are the most difficult when reality kicks in. I am 10 months into the loss of my husband of 44yrs. and I am not finding it that much different. It is still LOSS. It says our husband is not coming back to us. This is so very crushing to our existence and self esteem. It was God who instituted the family and marriage. It is God who will know how we feel after this loss. God set is up this way so if He is holding you up this is good. God is our only Hope and without Him I would not have been able to cope with life. I feel such a relief when I get through one day and then the next. I think this is all we can do and hope for the best that life can only improve for us in the way this changes over time.
