14 years of marriage to my best friend

I discovered a week ago that my wife (age33) of 14 years was having an affair with a 22 year old. I am devastated. We have 2 kids 11 and 15. They are confused why she left. I told them she doesn't love me anymore and she wasn't happy. I asked her to move out. She did with a girlfriend.

The pain is unbearable. I have crying fits all day. Can barely function. Everyone says it will get better but I just don't see it. I still love her so much. It hurts her to see me like this but she has made her mind up. Now tomorrow I have to visit with family I haven't seen in 20 years.

Hi there, I am not sure when you posted this, but I hope that some time has passed. I think I feel a similar pain. I was married for 14 years to my best friend too. Someone I met in my early twenties and was together with from aged 25 to 40. He left me for our next door neighbour (ten years my junior) and has since asked for no contact. This has been really difficult for me, and this was now three years ago. I still miss him every day. He is now a father and is living a similar life with this other woman. I don't know why he was not happy? It is the hardest thing in the world to move on - in fact I am now beginning to accept that I might not ever.
