Our sons
by: Anonymous

Hello....
I hope you don't mind the intrusion but your post made me want to respond.
I too lost a young son. He was just 25. It has been almost 4 years but I still cry every day. I have found that it matters not how a child dies. It is a loss that I find extremely difficult to deal with. Only a mother who has lost a child can begin to understand. How many times I have tried to make a deal to trade my life for his. I believe that we both had wonderful sons and neither of us will EVER forget them. Nor will we ever stop wishing that we could see them just one more time.
I know the depth of my pain so have an idea of yours. There is no greater pain for a mother.
My son, Courtney Alan Phelps is on this webpage so you can look him up if you would like.
You are not alone. Neither of us will ever get over the total pain that life has forced upon us. But...I know my son would not want me to quit.
I hope that knowing there are mothers out here who are suffering as much as you are will help you get through your days.
With all respect and empathy,
H
