A beautiful, fun, energetic sister is gone . . . . . .
My older sister Dana was always the life of the party, when she entered a room people noticed her she made friends easily and kept them for life. She never seemed to settle down, but her life was interesting she lived by the beach and loved the ocean. At one time she had it all, a wonderful loving husband, great job, awesome friends, a bird called Alice that she dearly loved, a family that supported her and a home on the beach. Dana always had a man in her life to take care of her. Slowly one by one she let us slip away no matter what we tried to do. This one time successful women who had it all was living in poverty with a man she knew for a year yet she refused our help over and over again. The last time I saw my sister was in February my little sister and I drove 2 hours to visit, the visit lasted 1/2 hour because she could not get it together, as we drove away in tears we exchanged glances realizing this was probably the last time we would see her. I got the call the other day; my dear beautiful, fun, energetic sister is gone. Her love affair with alcohol began in her 20's we lost her at the young age of 59 - at the hands of her boyfriend who loved and took care of her. Alcohol ruined both of their lives. I am so sad I did not do more for her the thought of my sister dying the way she did is unimaginable. I hope she is a peace.
