would love to hear more about how you are feeling

MY son 35 years old past away 78 days ago, after a very short battle with lung cancr. He has 2 boys, one is 7 years old and the other 2.5 years old. I would like to know how they are dealing with their loss and how it may effect their future.

Grieving for a father I never knew

Even though you did not know your Dad and he died when you were young you still have a history and need to know this otherwise you will feel empty not knowing who you are? and where you came from.
Everyone has a need to know their roots and "WHO AM I" You need to know you matter to someone and that you are loved and cared for. This is normal and you need to have the blank spots filled in. Perhaps you have relatives that can fill in the gaps in your childhood while you were growing up so you can make your own judgements and know how to move forward in life and be happy.

it is ok to be sad

Yes, the death of your dad is probably why you feel so emotionally distressed. Losing your parents at any age ( I was 46) is very tough. The relationship with your parents is one of the most important one in your life as they are the first ones to show you love and take care of you.
