A long journey

by Toni
(Sydney)

Last year my dear sister Kay was diagnosed with lung and bone cancer. After a year she died a very painful but supported death. About four weeks later her ex partner died of a heart attack.
Another sister who had been estranged for many years due to drug addiction, overdosed and died alone at Christmas.
Not long after my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer and started chemo treatment. The treatment was causing her side effects and she had a heart attack and died.
The year has been exhausting and very challenging. There have been many moments of joy and sorrow.
