I was a 54 yo, woman and I was riding my motorcycle on June 27,2011 during my lunch break. A lady made a left turn and did not see me. I

lost my left leg below the knee (BKA) at the accident site. I went through 7 surgeries and spent 42 days in the hospital.
At 7 months of recovery grief finally hit me.
I have done counseling, and I am now doing acupunture. I have also just joined the gym with a person kick my fanny into shape.
I lost my husband 5 years ago to suicide, so I know about grief of a loved one, but this one is different in some ways.

I was in an accident, have had 10 surgeries now, hit a Semi so am very lucky to say I did not loose a limb. I have spent 3 years trying to get 'back to myself' which is hard with so many injuries (Broke 20 bones). I just wanted to say Thank you for sharing, thank you for still smiling and thank you for still 'kicking it'!

I'm so HAPPY YOU ARE ALIVE! true you lost part of your leg, a prosthesis will never be like the leg God gave you. Now hold on tight and fight the fight do not loose hopes, you have the opportunity to move forward and start a new journey, FIND IT!
I lost my son and two brothers in motorcycle accidents. My younger bother was killed by a 22yrs old sending a text message and my dear son was killed by an 80yrs old woman who made left into his right of way and impacted him taking his life. Life is tough but we must find the reason for our lessons and serve in what ever capacity we can. I chose to help other parents who are grieving and I am very active in advocating motorcyclist safety on the road. Do not give into what your problem is rather find the way to work this terrible situation in something that will fulfill you and help you cope.
