We have a secret, you and I
that no one else shall know,
for who but I can see you lie
each night in fire glow?

And who but I can reach my hand
before we go to bed
and feel the living warmth of you
and touch your silken head?

And only I walk woodland paths
and see ahead of me,
your small form racing with the wind
so young again, and free.

And only I can see you swim
in every brook I pass
and when I call, no one but I
can see the bending grass.

Very touching

What a beautiful dog and what a beautiful person you must be to have written this for your dog. I feel there is no greater love or friendship than having one....I too, had to have my dog put to sleep on November 20, 2011. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do or will ever, ever do. Knowing when you walk out your door at home for the last time and put him in your car it will be the last time ever they will be there, it is almost unbearable.

I have been begging my dog to let me know he is okay and Thursday I was laying in bed and could smell him just as if he was on the bed with me. This was the gift my baby boy gave me when I needed him the most.

After losing my dog and making it this far without him = I know I can face anything.

Light a candle on Monday night - I am not sure what time you zone does it but you can find out by going to the Rainbow Bridge site. Thousands upon thousands do. I guarantee you will cry your eyes out but just knowing that many people are missing theirs at the same time is very healing. I will think of you next Monday and your little doggy too

Thank you

What an adorable angel and they went to heaven on the same day. I placed to sleep my 14 year old Jack Russell Becky at 3:30 AM 1/14/12..Just still going through some shock and denial but she was very sick with Kidney,Liver,Diabetes..Just still so new so I found this site to help continue with my process of grief. Best and Thank you for sharing . What a precious adorable best friend you had and loved. Mary T.
