Barney on top of a mountain.

It was the little things Barney did that we miss so much. From the way he came to greet us when we came home, to his excitement when it was time to go for a walk. Barney was 15 years old when we made the decision to put him down on October 12, 2009. It was time, but that didn't make it any easier.

Barney was such a special dog, he even helped our cat deliver her three kittens. On the night our cat gave birth he switched beds with her so she could have the bigger bed. In the morning she had perfect little adorable kittens. Barney helped guard those kittens like they were his own. Barney will always be our good buddy and we will never forget him ever. We love you Barn. He's a good boy.

Barney is in our prayers

We have all one common pain: the loss of our pet. Because of this, I understand the pain you are going through. It's been almost two months since we lost our Tobby, and I still feel him around, and at the same time we miss him so much. We pray that you will find the way to bring Barn's memories and a smile will brighten your face, although it is still hard for me to do it. There will be good days and bad days, but think of how much love Barney gave you and how much happiness he provided, and I am sure that the pain will be less.

I hope all our friends could meet in heaven and see us all together in this moment of sadness.

Good Friends to Barney

Barney was the best dog ever! I am sure he was met in dog heaven by our own Molly, who was Barney's best doggie friend for years. We enjoyed many sleep overs with Barney over the years. He was always the most polite guest and didn't even chase our cats. The Ellis family was very lucky that they were blessed with having Barney in their lives. Henry and Barney were the very best friends and Henry can be proud of how well he cared for and loved Barney over the years they had together. The entire Ellis family and all of their friends will greatly miss Barney. We can all be comforted by our good memories of him and the fact that we know Barney is once again running and playing, free of the pain of old age.

Henry, we all miss Barney. When I drove up in your driveway, Barney was always there to greet me. He was, perhaps, the most mild mannered, loving little dog I have ever known. In fact, he is the only dog that I would liked to have had!

The last few months of Barney's life, Barney was in severe pain. It hurt to see him limping around and not able to run, romp and play.

Everyone will always remember him as a beautiful, wonderful pet that provided a lot of pleasure to all who knew him. He will be missed but we have to know that he is now in a place where he can run and play and not have the pain he had here on earth.

My memories of Barney

I knew Barney all of his 15 yrs, from the time he was a puppy. He was a very gentle, loving dog and a great pet. For a couple of years he was an only child and then he made room in his life for Catherine and later Henry. Later still, he expanded his affection to include Jingles, Stella and Ginger.

I bet he is now able once again to chase squirrels and chipmunks in doggie heaven........and I bet he has many, many new friends.

Barney was a good ole boy, and the oldest of the tribe. He minded his own business. He was polite, considerate, and the most appropriate of all Ellis pets. Barney was older than his brother, Henry, and sister, Catherine. Barney was a perfect model for consistent calm behavior. He is in dog heaven now, after trying to train the Ellis family for 15 years. We enjoyed him while he was here and will enjoy memories of him from now on.

I found Barney finally. I am so happy to see that you were able to pay respects to our awesome Barnabus. He was such a joy to live with for more than fifteen years. I miss him. I will always love him. He is a good boy. Time to go to bed Barn.
