Brayden died!!!!

by Katie
(spokane, Wa)

Brayden is not my child, but he is my cousin. I am 13 yrs old, and he was 12 yrs old. I was not there at the time of his death. On Nov. 6 2010, he and my cousins, Haila and Bailey Hubbard, convinced uncle Jared to give them a ride in the front loader of a tractor, they were riding down the hill when the brakes went out of control, and they went off a 3 ft enbankment, Brayden thought a crash was possible, so he helped the girls take cover, he didn't have time to take cover himself, and he was ejected and run over by the front tire. Paramedics did CPR before a ambulance crew arrived, he was taken to mid valley hospital where he was pronounced dead. Haila and Bailey were seriously injured. they both were airlifted to Sacred Heart Children's Hospital. Bailey was released that same day with a broken arm and a concussion, but Haila had a compound fracture and was in the hospital for 3 days. Uncle Jared made it without a scratch. the outcome of the crash was 2 injued and 1 dead. the accident happened in Riverside WA. Here is some advice for kids: If you want to ride in the front loader of a tractor, don't, it could get you hurt or killed, the same way with my cousins. :(

I can't agree more that you speaking up on the dangers is a wonderful way to honor Brayden's life. I am here searching for support for a friend who lost a young daughter in an accident. Ready this story was heartbreaking and I'm so sorry you lost your cousin. You are strong and brave for sharing with us and I thank you. I will certainly send her to this website, God bless.

I'M SORRY, KATIE

This is such a terrible thing for someone so
young to have to endure, and I'm sorry.

I know you miss your cousin, and your heart aches. May God bless you and your cousins that
survived. And also the driver of the tractor
who was just trying to let kids have a good time. You and your family will be in my special prayers.

Thank You~

Dear Katie~
What a brave young woman you are and thank you for posting about your cousin Brayden. I'm so sorry for your family's loss. Everyone on this web site has lost someone that we dearly loved. My husband passed away just two months ago. It's hard for all of us. If something good can come from your cousin's death it will be for you to spread the word about the dangers of riding on such equipment. I hope your uncle isn't feeling guilt about what happened. Most of the time these things just happen and it's nobody's fault.
I hope that your entire family finds some peace and continues to spread the word for Brayden. God's blessings to you and your family.
