Bye Ma

by Rey

Our mama died yesterday morning.

For months, she braved her renal failure but refused medication. We were there by her side as she drew her last breath. She fought till the end but God in his mercy finally took her in. This morning, in accordance with faith, we bade farewell as she was cremated.

The shock has worn off and I cry now because I regret not having visited her as often as I should have.

Bye Mama. I know you're in a better place. We love you and we'll surely miss your sweetest of smiles.

Rey I am sorry for your loss of your Mama who died yesterday. It is a very hard place right now in the initial days after death. Talk over how you feel with someone. Don't suffer this death all alone. You will soon start to feel better. You will grieve for some time as we have found with this is the nature of the grief journey. It is long and hard. A mother is a very significant person in a child's life and this goes all the way into adulthood. WE never outgrow our mothers, even when we get married. Grief makes us feel we wished we have visited more,? done more for her?, told her how much she meant to us? But mother's know this intuitively. Every day will be a day closer to healing from your loss. May God surround you with Comfort and support at this difficult time.

Your Mama

I am so sorry to hear about your Mama, I call my Mother , Mama also. Your words really hit home with me because I know I should go to see my Mama more often, I speak to her every day at least twice and see her once a week. My thought and prayers are with you and your family. I to, also believe she is in a better place and you will all see your Mama again, this is my belief and I find it so very comforting to know that we will see our loved ones again. Take care and God Bless. Your letter has made a decision for me and that is to see Mama more often. Thank you. With Love from someone who knows the pain of losing a loved one. Jan xx
