Christmas angel

by Donna
(Texas)

I got a letter from the funeral home that our (Bryan's)family has used for many years. They had a special ceremony remembering all of the loved ones which passed over this year. They had beautiful glass angels made for each person's spouse. The angel is holding a gold banner with the persons name and birth/death date.

My youngest daughter and I went and got Bryan's angel. While we were there we noticed that no one was there to represent our (Bryan's) grandmother so we got her angel and carried it to my mother-in-law. Bryan's grandmother passed away in Jan. of this year, Bryan had the honor of being a pall bearer. Who knew that only 6 months later he would be gone to join her and grandpa in heaven.

My mother-in-law thanked me for getting it and bringing it to her. I was proud of myself and my daughter, we only broke down twice during the ceremony. We did cut it short though, we got his angel and left, no visiting for us.

I would like to thank them (JE Keever Mortuary) for all they have done. They have gone beyond their duties. They had an obituary laminated and sent it in the mail. I have slept with it every night since I received it and will continue to do so until it gets tattered, and then I will put it away for safe keeping. I also give his laminated picture a kiss every morning and every night before going to bed, and any time in between when I just need a hug and kiss from him. It has helped me so much to have this.

Then they gave us our Christmas guardian angels, I will start a tradition and put it on our fireplace mantel during the holiday season. Let us survive this holiday season one day, one hour, one breath

Angels are Love
by: Trish J

What a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing it with me. I lost my husband on December 3rd of this year and Christmas is going to be hard for me. I can't even begin to imagine the pain of losing a child. I worked for pediatricians for 10 years and the deaths of the children were unbearable for me to deal with. A parents pain has to be almost insurmountable.

Angels have always held a special meaning to me. You've given me a wonderful idea for a Christmas present for my children for next year. An angel with their fathers name, birthdate and date of death (maybe I'll leave out the date of death-I have a whole year to think about it) to bring out every year at Christmas. That way he will always be sharing the holiday with them. God bless you and your daughter. I lost my brother when he was way too young (33 years) and I miss him every day.

Christmas blessings to you and your family.

Donna,

Isn't it funny how we manage to get what we need when we need it in times of despair? I like to think that that is our guardian angel our loved ones looking down on us trying to help us through this. Too many times when I thought "I cannot do this anymore" a small miracle happens, sometimes such a small thing that if you weren't paying attention it would pass right by happens just then, to give us strength to carry on.

So glad your little miracle happened when it did. and that you are finding ways to carry on with your head held high remembering the Love that you had and cherishing it.
HH
