Miss you much

My brother Sheriff Cody Carpenter passed away this year when our little community of Scott County was overcome with heavy flooding. On May 31st 2013 the Sheriff's office received a call from two elderly women who were in a panic due to the sudden rise of the creek behind their house. My brother and several of his deputies and Game and Fish Officer responded to this call.Upon arrival my brother took the life jacket from his deputy and got into the boat in an attempt to save the two women. After reaching the house they were struck by a wall of water and lost their lives. My brother entered heaven that morning doing what he loved, helping others. I know that this is not good-bye but see you later. As Christians we will see him again. Until then we will keep his memory alive in our hearts. Love and miss you much Cody!!

Cody Carpenter - My Brother - My Hero!!!

Kandis I am sorry for your loss of your brother Cody to a sudden death.
I lost my husband to cancer and as a Christian I also believe I will see him again this is our HOPE. I didn't say good-bye. I would say "See you in the morning." I am longing for this morning when Jesus comes back for us as he promised and destroys death forever so we never have to feel this pain of losing a loved one. It was never in God's plan that we die. We face death due to SIN. Death doesn't not lessen our pain. Jesus wept when Lazarus died. We are to sorrow but not as those who have no HOPE. May God comfort you and your family in your loss of Cody and may God give you all His Peace.

My Brother-My Hero

Kandis--I am very sorry for the loss of your brother, Cody. As I read your post I realized how selfless your brother was and others like him to put their lives in danger to save others. What a sacrifice he made. I feel your sorrow, only in a different way as my husband died one year ago of Sudden Cardiac Arrest and I am on the journey of grief which is still so brutal. What gave me a ray of light and kinship with you is when you said you will see your brother again as you all are Christians. I know that God has a plan for we who believe in His son, Jesus Christ, and that is to enter heaven when we leave this life on earth and there we will meet our loved ones again and be in the presence of our Lord and Savior. May God help you and all of us in our grief.
