DADDY'S

by silver laduke

Daddy's are strength
When we are weak.
Daddy's are hugs
When we scrape our knee.
Daddy's are a safe haven
When our world falls apart.
Daddy's are love,
Love from deep in your heart.
Daddies like you
Don't often come along.
Daddy, I'm glad
You came along in Mine.

Written for Father's Day 2001

My father died Dec 4,2009 after a long bout with cancer.
