Dear Mom, you are the wind

by Jessica B.
(Juneau, Alaska)

I thought of you today
I called to have flowers delivered
It must be a beautiful arangement
I wont be able to see it

How are you enjoying your view
I remember the last time
It was beautiful
The sun shining down
On the waves
The smell of the flowers
I wont be able to see it again

I heard your voice today
Although it was years ago
It felt like yesterday
I wish it was today

Yes he is with me now
Curled up snoring on my bed
His amber eyes open
As I look at him
I can see he misses you
I wish you could pet him

I wish you could tell me
“It will get better”
Just once more
But I wont be able to hear it

You are no longer here
In human form
You are the wind
Pushing us along

I know you are still here
I can feel it
I can feel your anguish
Not being able to talk
Or even hug
Your baby girl

But I want you to know
I miss you
We WILL meet again
I love you
With ALL my heart
You are my mother
That will never change

But for now my heart aches
To much to visit
But I know you are not there
For you are the wind
Pushing me along

Beautiful Words
by: Anonymous

Such beautiful words you wrote. I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my Grandmother on 3/30/15 after a 6 month health battle . It is painful I know, I hope you are doing well as you can. I love the way you honor your mom through such precious words. I try to do the same for my Grandma who was like my mother my entire life. Bless you.

Jessica what a beautiful message in words and truth of your experience of losing your mother.
Our Mothers gave life to us and meaning to go through each day. We will only lose them for a season, and then be reunited one day. this is the Hope that keeps us going on each day.
