ed koehler...the golden boy

my dear son in law ed koehler was killed in afghanstain july 18 2011..the saddest day of my life. what man he was! so funny, loving, caring and all that is good in life. he made our house a home. the pain wont stop thinking that he is not coming home in nov. i was going to meet him as he stepped off the bus to begin his life after retiring from the military. we had so many plans. he was a wonderful husband to my daughter and the best dad to my grand daughter. and to me he did no wrong. we often laughed about that. he thought it was so funny.

i know he is very much alive with jesus and i will see him again one day..until then i will always hold him close in my heart and think of the good memories i love you ed koehler and always will..others may come in our lives but one one will ever replace you..until i see you again..i love you my GOLDEN BOY.

we thank God for Ed and our soldiers

Dear Rita, how loving of you to speak in Ed's honor and tell us how wonderful he is, as a veteran, I pray for our soldiers, our officers in Pentagon who make the decisions, and for our President, as we all should, for our treasure is not our natural resources, but infinitely more, men like Ed who love their country so much they give the ultimate sacrifice. Our country is under attack, but the brave and the unselfish go to defend us, and how much we owe them! I am crying as I write this, but I cannot imagine the sorrow and loss you possess, but you can be proud in that you have such an honorable son-in-law. Thank you for writing to us in his honor, we are praying for you and your family, may God bless you dear Rita!

First of all I want to say from the bottom of my heart thank you to and your family for your son-in-law's sacrifice. It breaks my heart to hear of one young man lost in this horrible war. A good friend of mine lost his son in Iraq several years ago and it tugs at my heart every time I think of him.

You are so right. You will see him again. He will always be watching over you, your daughter and grand daughter. God bless you all as you pick up the pieces and go on without Ed. I pray for strength for you and your family and for all the service men who are bravely put their lives on the line every day.
