Fiance left after 3 months

by Todd
(Nashville, TN)

My fiancee and I had dated for a little over two years, the only issue we ever had was that she live 30 minutes on one side of town and I lived 30 minutes on the other side. I travel a lot so she would usually be at my place when I was home. my home is a lot different that hers, she lives in a little house packed on a quarter acre lot in a subdivision, while live in a big log home on 5 acres in the country.

This was a huge issue I finally decided I had to compromise, I bought her a ring in November last year and was going to surprise her with it at christmas and get both of our homes appraised and see what we had to work with and find a compromise place. Before I could do this two things happened, 1st I found out I had cancer for the second time, and 2nd she then informed me that she had met someone online that she wanted to pursue. She said I know you have cancer again, but that's too bad.

like an idiot, I loved her so much that I showed her the ring and told her the housing plan I proposed and she agreed and we were engaged in December. I had my prostate removed in January and 2 months to the day after the surgery and all of the attendant uncertainty that goes with that surgery, she informed me in a restaruant that she waited until I was over the surgery but that I was never going to sell my house and it was over. Now it appears that they didn't get all of the cancer and I'm in for more "treatment". unfortunately, she works where I do and I have to see her every day, it just feels like this is never going to heal.

Time heals every wound
by: Anonymous

My dear.

it may sound like cliche, but time heals all wounds.
I dont know what time frame it will take, but it does heal. Just being determined to let her go is a start. hang in there and one day, you will see that time heals.
