Fire Chief Tom Shagina

by Cathy Shagina
(Anaconda, Montana)

Father and son

Father and son

I met Tom while I was working; we met then and it was one look and we were together twenty seven years. Two children later, three grandchildren, Tom did so much for his community and family. He knew the words to love your neighbor, he did that every day.

He was the best Fire Chief this town has ever had or will have, he was responsible for saving the Elks Club from going down, and saving buildings from a fire; for which he was rightfully given outstanding citizen of the year award.

Tom loved sports, and animals, Bailey and Brandy. Most of all he loved his family, his soulmate and best friend Cathy, he loved his brother Michael and his sisters Liz, Donna and Mary Kay. One of the things being married to Tom he taught me was when we bought any thing it was to be bought in ANACONDA, because it was the people who paid his wages; he supported the businesses and schools.

HE LOVED LIFE, and sports, he knew how to give, he never asked for anything back. He was proud of Joe his son and Tricia his daughter, and her husband Tim. He was especially proud of the FACT THAT HE HAD TAKEN HIS WIFE TO IRELAND, he loved it there and the cousins and people.

He loved driving the car and taking the dogs for their morning drive and special place at the park, Tom was good natured. If any one has special memories of Tom we would so like to hear them, thank you.

~His family Cathy, Joe and Tricia and grandchildren Zoe, Owen and Liam and son in Law Tim
