Hamish, My Catboy

by Claudia
(Abingdon, Virginia)

Hamish (2001-2009)

Hamish (2001-2009)

Hamish began life as an alleycat. I adopted him with his brother Duncan. Hamish was the ginger tabby, while his brother was a gray tabby.

Although Hamish was the larger of the two by several pounds, he was the strong, silent John Wayne type. He enjoyed lounging on my quilt. In the morning, he would come to the bathroom to drink from the sink faucet as if it were a fountain. His quiet ways even won over my landlord and landlady who are not really cat admirers.

He was a wonderful catboy, and now he is gone.

Hamish, I hope you find lots of pretty mousies and moles in cat heaven.
