Before my dad died i lost contact with him (chose the wrong man over my family typical story) for many years. We just started to get close did just gave birth to my eldest daughter my life for once seemed perfect complete then my dad died my daughter just 4 weeks old. 6 years on ice had another daughter whos 3 and a son 8months old and i still miss my dad more than i can say. The worst part is as on the eldest and a mum i can't show how i feel so im not sure on the way forward is just wish i could see way forward and stopped thinking of ways back so i could concentrate on my beautiful children

Hannah I am sorry for your loss of your father. WE only learn the true value of what we have lost till it is gone. This is Life. WE WILL ALL LIVE WITH REGRETS. You had to live your life and your dad would have realised this. You made a CHOICE as we all do. Who knows whether this is the right CHOICE. You took a risk. If we don't take a risk in life we will never know what could be. I am in the same place as you. I lost my husband 14 weeks ago to cancer and we were married for 44yrs. My Adult children are getting on with their lives. I am on my own now and wondering what will I do with myself. This is the sad part of life that families divide and go their own way. You are grieving this loss and so it may just take time and then you will be able to move forward. If you can't move forward then go and see a counsellor who will be able to help you here. When you get over this loss then you will be able to move forward and embrace the present with your children. This is important to not let memories cloud the present.
