Happy Birthday, my love I miss you

Today is my love's birthday. He would have been 65.He has been gone 2 yrs and 4 months.I still miss him just like it was yesterday.I try to go on and most days I can accomplish some things but some days, like today, when I have so much trouble just existing.Tears run down my cheeks as I think of how we used to make sure we spent each others birthday together.Even when I worked I would request his birthday off a month ahead so I could be sure to be with him. We would always go out to eat in the evening.Even after he got weaker with his emphysema,we had so much affection.I miss him so much.

Happy Birthday, my love I miss you

I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved husband. It is the anniversaries and birthdays that are the worst along with Christmas coming up and how most people do Christmas as a family celebration bringing families together. I lost my husband 17 months ago to cancer and just like you I go on each day and manage life. But there are times throughout the day when a thought or memory leaves me in tears. I sit alone a lot of the time and wonder, forgetting what life used to be like. It all seems so far away as if a century has gone. But it is important to still nurture ourselves by putting back into our life the celebration of events past until we can put new memories in its place for our own survival. Nurturing oneself is just caring enough to do those important things that matter. Whether for ourselves or others. This I find very Healing. May you be Blessed in life and find a way forward from your grief where life gets easier.
