Harley. My story

by Debbie Biggs
(Las Vegas nevada)

My little black Persian Harley had to be put to sleep tonight she got acute renal failure was sick for one week take to vet 2 times to no Avila. She was a special little soul I saved from a life of constant breeding I know she had a great life, the best I could provide. So when she gave me that look I knew what I had to do. I knew she was tired and miserable. The look was its time .....she had a very peaceful passing with me holding he until he last little breath. I knew then she was peaceful and in no more pain.....today I feel sad but I know she will be there for me when it's my time. So good bye my friend. You will be missed so much. But in the end. I know you are in a good place. Love mom

Harleys demise
by: debbie

I now know after some investigation and information sent to me from another online site that Harlys death was due to receiving the antibiotic covenia which is not suggested to be used in cats especially older ones its use is for skin and wound infections and abscesses not that this will bring her back but the word needs to be spread about this drug.It stays in their body for one month. It has a myriad of other side(given IM) effects. So please believe me and always ask your vet what your baby is getting before hand. I am an RN emergency room I trusted the vet one time I called her and told her about the info.she was unaware of this and said she would look into it. **izer is the drug manufacturer there is a number to call if you believe it caused the death of an animal.. but she is cremated so no tissue samples will be able to prove but this but please believe me and always trust your gut feeling. Thank You all for your time and pass this on.debbie b

Letting Go
by: Judith in California

Debbie, I know your sadness and pain form having to do the right thing for your special kitty. I too have had to ut down two in the last ywo years and it just doesn't get easier. I have three more and two are beign treated for hyperthyroidism. It's rough loving them so and having to be kind in letting them go be with God. I do believe we will see them again. For now I have to know my kitties are up their with my husband playing as they did here but with no more illness.

Take care and God bless.
