on July 30, this year we made the decision to have our 13 year old chocolate lab put to sleep. he had a lot of health issues. we just were not ready to let him go even though we knew he was ready. we had just had taken our daughter off of life support in April and was not ready to lose him. Hawkeye was a one in a million dog a gentleman, and a gentle dog who was friends with everyone he knew 2 and 4 legged. he will never be forgotten. we now have our daughter's dog. he is coming along. we know he did not understand why he was not going back to his home or where our daughter was and where his buddy Hawkeye went.

Bonnie I am sorry for your loss of Hawkeye and also your daughter. Life is so difficult when we lose loved one's and pets.
You did the best ever act by taking your daughter's dog and to love him and give him the same love you gave your daughter and Hawkeye. You are continuing this cycle of Love. I hope this dog brings you all the Love and Joy in your life you deserve. May God comfort you both and give you strength and Peace as you endure your Grief.
