He Made a Joyful Noise

by Joann Damone
(PSL FL,U.S.A)

It's only been a month and a half. Steve Graves, 64, died on 9-11-10. what a joy he was. He loved life so much that he refused a DNR. In 2007 we found out he had stage 1v Throat Cancer. He was an incredible singer, yet he chose a Laryngectomy. He fought for almost 3 yrs. He fought almost all his life.

He was a Marine in Vietnam, wounded, 2 purple Hearts, and a Medal of Valor. He was in 7 Hospitals before he came home. My grief is palpable. We loved, laughed, bickered and cried for 10 years. On 9-11 at 4:41 I had to make the decision at Miami Veterans Hospital to end his suffering. I held his hand till he was gone.

He was loved by many; He was the party, everyone just loved to be around him. Not only was he a great singer, he was super talented lead guitar player. On Nov 13th and 14th we are having a party to celebrate his life and Veterans Day. So appropriate for a great man. He had so many friends from New Hampshire to California.

There will Be a void that can never be filled and nothing will ever be the same. I will miss you Steve all the days of my life and love you till the day that I die,,,,,

He sounds like such a beautiful man. Bless you in your grief. May he sing now with the angels.

It my great pleasure to salud this man. There are few heroes left, and we salud this man and American Soldier. May God receive him in his arms.
Good luck to you and my sincerest hope is that you remember him by celebrating his life in yours.
