I open the front door-

when I return to our house.
You are not there to greet me or be greeted by me.
Only the stillness.

No sound of your voice, or your laughter.
Or the warmth of you there.
Only the silence.

No sound of your tread upon the floor.
Or the smell of cooking.
Only the loneliness.

No sight of your coat in the hall
Or the smell of your perfume.
Only the memories
And the photographs.

I have lost you, my Love,

And our home

has

lost

it's

soul.

I enter and close the door--- .

How well I know your feelings. Whenever I leave and come home---nothing.When I go to bed--alone.When I cook a meal--for one. When I turn around to a sound--no one. It's so hard for others to understand that the thing we miss the most is just the presence of the one now missing in our lives. We were so used to having someone and now they're gone. How are we supposed to act.My husband has been gone for almost a year and a half now and it still feels as if he should be here--but he's not. I grieve with you.GOD BLESS you and give us all strength to know what to do.love and prayers go your way
