How could you?

by Austin Lagrone
(Roscoe, Illinois, United States)

The Love We Could Have Had...

The Love We Could Have Had...

I most likely surprised you,
Maybe took you off-guard,
But is that any reason,
To shove my feelings,
Back into my face?

All I wanted was a chance,
a chance to play MY card,
And show you what you meant to me.
I thought we could've had something,
But I guess that isn't the case.

An angel has rejected me,
And thrown away my heart so brutally and hard.
So, I've tried, and I've failed,
I'll always feel the pain,
When I look at that beautiful face.
