I lost my child hood

by Basma
(Illinois)

I was sexually abused since the age of 8 to the age of 16
In counseling I was told I needed to go through the grieving process
I don't know where to start I feel so many different emotions scared and confused

You are not alone
by: SUE

I too, was abused and like so many young girls from my era we had to keep it hush hush, Young lady, scream it out ..."it is not my fault"! Please keep up the counseling..God Bless you.

Begin to Grieve
by: Judith

You begin by stepping outside of yourself and seeing you as the young child you were and tell him/her ( can't tell by your name) it wasn't your fault and cry for your loss of innocence, cry for your loss of trust, cry for the child who didn't deserve the abuse you went through. Cry for the child who didn't feel loved or cared for.

I wish you peace as you go through counseling to understand and know it was the sickness of the abuser and nothing to do with you. You deserve to be happy , self confident and strong and hold your head up as a survivor. And in time let yourself do something fun and be childlike doing it.

God bless you.
