I lost my sister

by Rachel
(Arlington Heights, IL, US)

My sister was shot to death by her husband at the age of 20, and he also killed himself shortly afterward when the police had him cornered. I was very young and didn't experience much grief. However, it was very painful for my mother. My sister wasn't my mother's daughter, but my Mom helped raise my father's two daughters. I had two sisters that were my father's daughters from a previous marriage. I know my other sister who was only a year older than her really misses her. Sometimes, I wish my sister who died could see how her daughter, who was an infant when she died, grew up to be a successful and pretty young woman.
