I love you daddy

by Nancy Psenicka

It first started on 12-20-2009 when we were at a party. Dad looked old and tired and something was not right. After we ate, we opened presents for the kids with Santa. Then I went downstairs to watch one of the kids play bowling.

When I came up my Mother was calling 911 saying that Dad had fallen in the bathroom and was very weak. It turned out his stomach was bleeding and he was too weak to operate. They put a balloon in his belly to stop the bleeding, an it worked.

Mom then told me about him having a type of liver cancer and he was getting treatments and that was why he was looking so worn out the last year. He got to go home the day after Christmas and I was happy; I thought that he was doing better.

About a week ago he called 911 and had to go to the hospital again they had to drain water from his stomach and he was going to rehab in a nursing home. I talked to him on 1-15-10 and he said whatever happens it's for the best, not to worry. And he said "I love you" then he hung up and that is the last that I ever heard his voice.

I called Mom daily and asked how he was and she said that he was really weak and tired. I was working on 1-20-10 and I had a cold and Barb asked if I wanted to go home. I thought ok, we have a lot of people and because I didn't feel good I went home. Then Barb said your Mother was out in the lobby.. At that second I already knew what I didn't want to hear......Dad didn't make it, she said.
