I love you mum.xx

My mum went to sleep one night and didnt wake up for nearly 2 weeks, she had suffered a massive stroke and it was so severe that after 6 weeks in hospital the stroke team said it would be kinder to withdraw treatment and let her pass away, that was the most heartbreaking decision my family have had to make. My mum passed away 5 days later with most of the family at her bedside, and although we got to say goodbye its really tough knowing she will never be there to hold, cuddle, kiss, laugh and joke with and just to give us a telling off if we are being silly. My mum died aged 72yrs i really miss her a lot, and just writing these words are comforting, she really was a wonderful mum/person always so giving.

I am sorry for your loss of your mum. It matters not how old our parents are. We want them with us forever. I lost my mum 10 yrs. ago and I just lost my husband to cancer 18 months ago. I felt the loss of my mum more after losing my husband. somehow the grief's connected and felt more sad to bear.
Talking does help us to heal from grief, so write back if you find yourself struggling from day to day. This is the day of the week my husband died and so every Saturday is an unhappy day. I will be glad when I feel the pain of Saturday less. Saturdays hurt so much. My husband liked to make the salad for lunch and do the cooking and we had 6 for lunch and now there is no one. I sit here all alone. Everyone has gone their own ways and my father who was here is in a care home and will die soon being 92yrs. of age. I used to enjoy these Saturdays' and wished I could have framed them and they lasted forever. Make the most of any good time with loved one's you have left because they could be gone all too quickly.

I understand

Dear friend, My condolences on the loss of your mum.

I lost my mum recently too, and never managed to say goodbye, either, so I do understand.

Like you, I was there, at the end. It seemed unreal that my best friend would no longer be there to share my days with.

I try to gain comfort from the fact that my mum knew how she was loved. Your mum too, must have known too how much she meant to you. This is a blessing. I do hope in time the pain will ease for us. This is what our mums would want.

It is good you have made contact with this site, as those on it understand the pain of grief.

With kindest wishes x

I'm so sorry....

I lost my father earlier this year - he died suddenly from cardiac arrest. I miss him so, so much and there are so many things I want to tell him and talk to him about. I hope you find peace along the way as you begin to heal. I will keep you in my prayers, Barb
