I miss him so much

by kennedy

My brother was diagnosed with ependymoma in 2004. After several surgeries to remove his reoccuring brain tumors and rounds of chemo and radiation and years of fighting, he passed away in May 2012. Everyday still feels like that day. I have no idea how to move on from this, I dont even think ive began to heal. I miss him so much. He passed two days after his 10th birthday. It feels strange to be here without him. My heart constantly aches.

I miss him so much

Kennedy I am sorry for your loss of your young brother to this awful brain cancer. Your brother was ill for over 8 years and this is a long battle with cancer. The whole family suffer when cancer strikes and so you as a family will feel this loss greater as it was a family cancer and struggle. You can be helped greatly by the support of a grief counsellor. You say you haven't begun to Heal yet. Healing takes time. You will cry a lot and feel such deep sorrow that leads to tears. THIS IS GRIEF. Healing is a very slow process. WE cannot rush grief or Healing. My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. I lost my husband to cancer 10 months ago. I had to watch him die a slow painful death over 3 yrs. whilst I nursed him. I know how difficult the battle is. Our loved ones are not suffering anymore. BUT WE ARE. The initial days of loss are the greatest and most painful. WE will miss our loved one's forever. The sad fact is that we will keep losing members from our family and we never know when this will be. It happens so fast we hardly have time to catch our breath. Days ahead will get better with the correct professional and family support.
