I miss my sister! Sept. 5, 2012

My sister was very mentally ill and would never stay on her medication. On Sept 5, 2012 she went into her room and lit herself on fire trying to remove a tatto. She ran out of the house naked and ran to a neibhor, who gave her water, my sister Maria tried to pour the water on herself to cool her body down. I was called to the sene but could not find her she had ran to another street and I did not know where she was. I should have ran to look for her but I just sat there and wathed the house burn! My sister was so kind and loved the Lord! She was saved as a christian. On her way to the hospital via helecoptor her heart stopped and they were never to revive her! She was only 37 years old and just had a 6 month old baby. Where is the justice in that? I hurt every day! I take care of her baby! The pain is aweful and sometimes unbearable!

Sylvia I am sorry for your loss of your sister to a sudden death. You were in shock so didn't respond to your sister's need at the time. To see your home burn down is such a startling and shocking experience you wouldn't be able to think clearly. Mental illness is a very difficult illness for the sufferer and also for the family. Often family members can be faced with very hard challenges daily and face the mood swings and may even be caught up in the illness. Unable to help the individual as they are too emotionally close to be of benefit. There are different degrees of mental illness but all are very debilitating. One can often feel locked into a world they cannot understand or feel misunderstood and this causes frustration for everyone. It matters not whether a person is a Christian. They go through terrible trials and sorrow. My nephew suffered depression and he threw himself in front of an express train. He was also a Christian. My sister was so grief stricken she almost went mad. You may benefit from seeing a grief counsellor for support and to be able to get through this tragedy. May God comfort you in your sorrow and grief and provide support for you .
