I Miss the Boy

by Lue
(Knightdale, N.C.)

I miss the boy that I used to hold hands with
When we crossed a busy lane,
And when he fell off his bike
I would help him up again.

I miss the boy that enjoyed nature walks in the woods
And usually carried with him a staff,
I loved to hear him when his friends called
I got to hear his wonderful laugh.

I miss the man
That he grew up to be,
He had some wonderful ways
And noble qualities.

I miss the man
That gave me loving hugs,
And it didn't matter who was present
He never, ever shrugged.

I miss my son
But heaven's gates opened wide,
And Jesus Christ
Asked my son to come inside.

And from that day foward
Everday that I wake up,
I'll miss my son
My sweet and caring, Jacob.

I Miss The Boy

Reading your poem, I think of my own son who died. May God comfort us in the terrible grief we share as mothers. What more can I say ... except we will see them again in God's heavenly home where they are without the suffering of this world. Be strong, my friend, you are not alone.

Thank you. I am glad you liked the poem. I give the praise to God for any good from me, even a poem. May he comfort you and bless you as only he can.
