Italian Grandparents, Sarah, Pietro, Domenico

(Palermo Sicily)

My grandma Serafina, we call in america Sarah, was born on Jan 26,1902. A family of six, all from Sicily. She taught me how to sew buttons and then taught me how to sew my own clothes. Grandpa used to clean the fish after one of his son in laws went fishing. The only thing I can remember is grandpa Pietro holding a large sharp knife in one hand and dead fish head in another.
My mothers father Domenico, used to bring us Hershey Large brand of Chocolate bars under his old newspapers to visit us on Long Island NY. He was a wonderful man. He was born on OCT 2, 1889 in Palermo Sicily.
My other grand pa was born Jan 12, 1883, they both passed away a few years from each other in the 1960's
My grandmother Sarah, stayed sharp till she went to see Pietro her husband in 1995, she was 92 yrs old.

I remember all that we had as children. Our italian family was wonderful. we had good food, we had love and great bottles of wine. Alot of cousins to keep us kids entertained and we had many laughs and parties... Memories., thats all we have. Now its up to me to keep the family alive. I am doing my genealogy of my family tree. I went on my moms side 717 with one big family name Grifeo and my dads side goes back to 1256, and I will soon, continue to go pretty back with them all. I just think that my family was the greatest as I have learnt so much from them. I miss them all three of them alot. I never got to meet my mothers's mother as she lived in sicily and she was divorced from my grandpa when I knew them. but There is alot to talk about in my family tree. I hope that I can journal again about them cause they were my life... and I love them so.
