Ivan! A Pound Dog's View on Life, Love and Leashes

Ivan looking up
The writing of this story began in the fall of 2008 when I learned that my buddy, Ivan, a one-eyed snaggle tooth dog we adopted from a local humane society chapter had terminal cancer. Writing his life story from his perspective became a way of coping with the grief I was feeling, but the story turned out to be more humorous than sad. When I was finished, I sent it to my literary agent who loved it and sold it to Turner Publishing, based in Nashville, TN.
Ivan, by his relentless optimism, taught me how to be a better human and I'm humbled that I had the opportunity to walk with such an extraordinary companion.
The satisfaction of his story being published is immeasurable as his is a story of finding happiness while overcoming great hardships along the way.
This week the e-book version of my story is on sale Aug. 10-17 for $2.99.
