It was a year this Sept 14th 2013. I gave joined a grieving support group that truly has help quite a bit. I just wanted to die when he died. Losing your adult child that was a single father dedicated his life to his 5 children in every a spite , whether it was in sports or school programs or fundraiser. He did it all, plus holding a full time job. He was a wonderful son, father, brother and grandson. I have become more spiritual and that has help me move forward. Knowing I will see my first born son again. I have to say, I did very well on his anniversary . I said a little prayer and felt at peace. By having that faith has got me through this ordeal. I truly would suggest to find a grieving support and read prayers that will lift your spirits up. I am read a great book my sister send me from Florida. The name of this book is called Jesus Calling.by Sarah Young. It's a devotions for every day of the year. It's so up lifting. I thank god that he has carried me through this horrible tragdy . I hope I can help anyone that has gone through dealing with losing a love one. Especially your child. Grieving mom

Thank you Doreen , it's been a long haul for both of us and many for others. It's so important to hold on to our good lord. I know it's very hard to try to understand and everyone has the same question " WHY". Only our good lord knows why. I have accepted that through all the praying and Christian support groups that I have attended. I know I will be with my son again. That makes me happy. I am happy your doing good too. We will all still have are good days as well as bad days, but we must trust in The Lord and know he loves us all and will reunite us back together again. I hope by your testoneies and mine, we can help people know it does get better as far as the pain. We will never forget, but the pain eases up. I am also glad your able to move forward. God bless you and all that are grieving. Grieving mom

Your so right. I strongly believe in our lord. He had held me up. I pray everyday for him and everyone. That day will never leave me. The faith in god I have is so strong that it has helped me so much. I miss him dearly, but I am taking it one day at a time and holding on to our lord. He will get me through this. I am blessed to have him eased my pain. His birthday is coming up on Sept 28, and he would of been 39 yrs old. I know I will see him again when it's my time to go. His children are doing great. Thanks to The Lord and family. Thank you so much for your encouraging words. May god bless you and always pray for everyone, whether its the know or unknown that are are struggling with a loss of a love one or just hitting hard time. The Lord has ease my pain and has heard my prays. Thank you again. Love Leticia ( grieving mom)

Leticia I am sorry for your loss of your Adult son. It is a mother's worst fear to lose a child/Adult child.
I am so happy to hear how you have come through your grief and moving forward.
Having Faith in God does help immensely. It is God who created Life and takes our soul back to Himself in death so it is to God we must look for our strength to cope with our losses.
I lost my husband of 44yrs. 16 months ago to cancer. It was God who nurtured me and carried me through my grief and I am Healing as He is also the Healer. I felt Blessed by your post and each time we lift someone up by our support we are also healing from our loss.
You will see your son again and this is the Blessed Hope we have and keeps us going. Best wishes.
