dad and l in 1963

My father was my hero, he died a slow painful death from lung cancer, aged 80. He had survived lung cancer back in the early 90's and numerous heart attacks. What ever was thrown at him, he fought with a tenacity.

I know he's always with me, that he has shown me in simple things, like moving objects and whispering my name. I cared for my father for 7 yrs, l'll always cherish the time we had, one on one. I miss you dad, always will, one day we'll be together again.

Your loving daughter Vicki Maree Matthews.

Watching a loved one suffer from a lung related disease is so hard to do. If we could only breathe FOR them, but we can't. I also watched my father die from COPD and emphysema. My heart goes out to you.

Alison
