MY LOVING HUSBAND,FRIEND AND CONFIDENT DIED ON MAY 12, 2011 FROM AN EMBOLISM WHICH BROKE LOOSE AND TRAVELED TO HIS LUNGS. HE LOVED RIDING HIS HYABUSA MOTORCYCLE ON THE ROAD AND AT THE TRACK AND HE LOVED HIS SUBURBAN HIS 2ND WIFE.

HE WAS EXCEPTIONALLY SMART,QUIET AND RESERVED.HE WAS ABLE TO BUILD THINGS JUST BY LOOKING AT IT,HE WAS A MASTER CRAFTSMAN AND GOOD WITH HIS HANDS.

HE WAS A GOOD LISTENER AND ALWAYS SOUGHT WAYS TO PLEASE HIS HIS WIFE, FAMILY AND FRIENDS. HE WAS THE MAN THAT WHEN THINGS SEEMED DARKEST HE BROUGHT LIFE AND LIGHT TO IT.

THIS POEM WAS WRITTEN FOR HIM BY OUR YOUNGEST DAUGHTER AND IT DESCRIBES HIM IN A WAY THE SAYS IT BEST.

IN REMEMBERANCE OF KEVIN MARK SMILEY 12/29/65-5/12/2011

TODAY WE CELEBRATE A LIFE
FOR A CHERISHED SOUL IT WAS
WE REMEMBER HIS EVERLASTING
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
THOUGH HE LEFT THIS EARTH
HE RESTS IN A BETTER PLACE
HE WILL BASK IN THE GLORY OF GOD'S EMBRACE
TODAY WE SALUTE KEVIN
FOR ALL THAT HE WAS
HE REMAINS THAT HUMBLE MAN
THROUGH HIS SPIRIT UP ABOVE
HE COULD SMILE PAST HURT
AND MAKE YOU SMILE ALONG
HE KNEW JUST WHAT TO SAY
AS THOUGH LYRICS TO A SONG
WE APPRECIATE HIM
FOR ALL THAT HE DID
A PROVIDER AND CONFIDANT
FOR HIS WIFE AND KIDS
SUDDENLY TAKEN FROM US
WHILE IN DEEP SLEEP
OUR ONLY COMFORT IS
WE KNOW HE IS FINALLY AT PEACE
WE REMINISCE ON A BEAUTIFUL LIFE
WE WISHED WOULD HAVE NO END
WE CELEBRATE KEVIN SMILEY
UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

Missing My Sunshine
by: Lisa Smiley

It's been 8 mos since I lost my soulmate Kevin he brought light to darkness and calm to chaos he was my husband and my friend. I was blessed to spend the last 6 years with him and couldn't have asked for a kinder, gentler person to spend my life with. I miss him so much but because I know that John 5:28 is a reality though not yet beheld I look forward to seeing him again in the resurrection, but until then I will just miss him dearly but hold him in my heart forever.

I miss you my sunshine and I will be ready to see your smiling face again.

Real Talk...
by: Robin, Kevin's neice

When I was young, I remember that Kevin definitely had his flaws... BUT, he had such a kindness and gentleness about himself that you could not help but to look past his faults(Like our Lord does for us). Growing up, Kevin was like my own personal protector. He would always "TRY" to watch over me and keep me out of trouble. He tried his best to keep me from slipping out of Grandma's house and going down the street where I was forbidden to go. Although I think I might have been too slick for even him. Kevin is and will forever be loved and missed. However, it is a comfort to know the Truth; "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord"/2 Cor. 5:8. So as our family continues to make our way through our grief of losing Kevin and all our other loved ones that have gone before us, we just have to Trust and Believe that we will all see each other again!!
