Krista Marie Sellars 1992-2007

by Aunt Jeanie

Our Angel

Our Angel

When a young person dies, lots of times you'll hear people say that he or she was "special". That's normal in grief, memorializing by glorifying their memory. In this case, however, it's true! Krista was special.

She was wise beyond her years. When she died, she was 14 going on 22. And the things she could come out with! Even from an early age. There really was something special about Krista, and it came out in many of the memorial messages written by her friends after the funeral. One theme that was often repeated was how Krista was nice to everyone, and could cheer up even a whole group of people with her sweet smile. She never met a stranger, it seemed, and her family even worried about her safety because she was so nice to people.

Krista was only 14 years old when she died. She had already toured the University of Gainsville, with high hopes for attending after graduation from high school. She had an interest in veterinary medicine or dance choreography, but who knows what she really would have studied in the end, we will never know now. She was smart as a whip and an honor roll student.. Krista was a sweetie, a gorgeous girl, a cheerleader and member of the student council. She was very popular and respected by her teachers and many friends. A bright star in all our lives.

Her parents, grandparents and great-grand Faye adored her, and they are all devastated. This family has been damaged forever by this tragedy.

Krista was just going for a quick ride up the street with her boyfriend when a truck barrelled over the car she was in, killing her instantly. Just like that.

Krista, rest in peace, you will be sorely missed. We'll see you and your sweet smile again one day.

She was an amazing girl, Kathy. Richard and I got the phone call that night sitting at dinner...we thought people were fucking around with us until Steven called he said he tried to get her out but he couldn't, I love you and again I'm really sorry.

your daughter

I surely can relate to your pain.. losing your daughter at such a young age and so sudden must have been, or should I say.. WAS hard. As I read how you said how special she was and how everyone says that about young people that die, but that it was true about your daughter.. I feel the same way.. I lost my daughter also.. she was only 25.. yes older than yours, but she was so full of life, so happy, always smiling, lifting OTHER people up..
I just wanted you to know I thought about you today and I know there's nothing that can really take that sorrow away.. but I hope you feel like she is smiling down on you today.

I can't even say how sorry I am about your loss. When a young one dies it really seems so senseless and cruel. I have to believe in my heart She was called back to God for a special reason. May you all find peace in waiting the grief out. It takes too long, but she rests now. God Bless Krista Marie and all her friends and family. Janet F
