Losing the person who helped make me...me

I am 21, 3 mos ago my 16 yr old brother died in a drowning accident. I miss him so much and feel such pain without him in my life. He was the sweetest and most encouraging person and he is missing out on so much life right now. Everyone has said he would not want me to feel this way but, how do they know? He cannot tell me himself. I hope one day I will see him again. Love you little brother.

I am 24 and I lost my 19 year old brother few weeks ago. He was also drowned. I am still in shock and I am not able to accept it. Every time I close my eyes, I see his face and it breaks my heart when i realize that i will never see him again. Life just took this uncertain turn and here I am lost and in lot of pain.

I am sorry for your loss of your 16yr. old brother. Such a loss of a young life. It will be hard going on each day with not seeing him or any interaction with him. Even if he would have wanted you to carry on living, and being happy you can't right now. You won't know when you can. Grief tears us up into pieces and it is these fragments that we can't put together again to make us whole.
Only in TIME will you be able to assess how you move forward and when. All you know is that things will change in life. You will grow to accept this loss but the journey will be long and very painfull for some time.
I wish you better days ahead, Peace and comfort in your grief, and supportive friends and family to help you in this journey of sorrow and grief.
