Loss Of Pet: Tell Us About Your Lost Pet

“Give sorrow words; the grief that does not speak knits up the o’er-wrought heart and bids it break.”
~William Shakespeare
(From MacBeth)

Why write? Because it feels good. It is probably the most basic and simple method of creative grieving. Experts all agree that expressing your grief is essential to a healthy mourning process, whether due to loss of an animal or human companion.

Our society as a whole does not recognize the significance of pet loss or provide formal and public rituals, like a human funeral, where sorrow can be openly expressed and emotional support freely given. So you are pretty much on your own with pet loss grief, and may be embarrassed and unwilling to share it in a healthy way.

Think of your own “loss of pet” page as an emotional outlet for you, one you won’t find elsewhere. We will not be judgmental or make you feel “crazy” over your deep sorrow. All you will find here is a silent army of readers, other animal lovers, who have gone through what you have. We feel your pain and wish you well.

So tell us all about your lost pet, what you will miss about him. Tell us what happened to him, and how you feel about your tragedy. Express your words of pet loss sorrow; it will be therapeutic in the long run.  Come back later and read the comments left by visitors to your page, and see how you felt “back then”.

Share your story of pet loss with others! It will help in coping with your loss. It will also help others to know that they are not alone in their pain. Helping others, even in a small way, helps you. You can access loss of pet grief stories left by others below the submission form. Feel free to comment or give comfort to others if you wish.

VERY IMPORTANT TIPS BEFORE YOU POST.

A MUST READ:

  1. When you post ANYTHING ON THIS WEBSITE, it becomes available via websearch (Googling) to the whole world!!! All they have to do is google a name and they will find your post. Do not use real names if you don’t want to share your story with the world.
  2. Compose your post totally offline beforehand. Use a simple word processor like Notepad. Then copy and paste the whole thing into the Yourspace submission box. This prevents you losing all your hard work.
  3. All original posts (not comments) must consist of at least 2-3 paragraphs, or they will be immediately rejected. Search engines penalize websites for short pages.
  4. If you want to continue your story after submission, please add to the original post thru the comments box instead of making multiple submissions. This will move your post back up in the list.
  5.  We will immediately reject any submissions that are mean spirited, vulgar, use foul language or specify any nurse, doctor, hospital, hospice, or people accused of crimes, by name.
  6. Texting language is great! For cellphones. Please use full words and keep text language to a minimum.
  7. Your post does NOT automatically appear after you submit it, like some forums. There is a time lag of from 2-24 hours until you will see it online. Please don’t submit it multiple times!*If you still don’t see your story, try refreshing the cache on your computer. Here’s how: Hold down the CTRL button while you hit the F5 button at the top. This updates the page for you.
  8. We hope you understand and help us out by following these simple rules.
