Lost Ashley<3

by Hannah
(Missouri)

On April 20th, 2008 my oldest sister and best friend Ashley died from her injuries from a car accident prior 3 days. She was 20 years old and was so amazing. She was the sweetest, most kind gentle soul I have ever and would ever meet. I'm only 14, but I remember her so clearly from my childhood. Losing her was and still is, like losing part of my heart. I love her so dearly and would give anything and everything to bring her back to me, and my 4 other siblings. And our parents. It's so hard getting through the day knowing that she's gone and not coming back. Looking at my younger sister and seeing Ashleys face there is so hard. The only way I have of remembering her is some old pictures, and an Ashley doll that she had since she was about 2. Seeing my mom in pain and despair everytime someone says the name "Ashley" cuts through my heart so deep each and everytime. If I could just have one more day with her, I'd do anything to show her how much I love her. I love you so much Ashley, your my best friend, older sister, and guardian angel. Keep us all safe please<3 :(

sisters....

I lost my beautiful little sister when I was 20 and it broke my heart too. It's been 35 years and it will always hurt. I lost my beautiful sweet son 11 months ago. He was only 23. One of the things I've found helpful is to join a grief group. The Compassionate Friends is a great parent/sibling group. They have a facebook page. Also, grieving mothers has a facebook page and they have a sister page called grieving siblings. Sometimes it really helps to talk to others who "know" what you are going through.
