Love you aunt sandy

by Grace
(greenville, nc)

i haven't lost a grandparent, but Ive lost my aunt. She was very dear to my heart.. She was on a machine that was keeping her alive and they thought she could make it without it.. and she died just like that.. I miss her so much :(
All i can do is think about her.. I cant stop crying. It hurts to much.. all I do is lay in bed and listen to sad music. People say think about the good times you had together. But when i do it hurts me even more knowing that it will never happen again.

Grace I am sorry for your loss of your aunt Sandy. It is wrong for people to tell you to just think of the good times. Grief has a process and you have to face each stage before you get to thinking of the good times. I lost my husband and I can't think of the good times yet. This doesn't mean there is something wrong with me. All I can think of is the cancer journey and how he suffered. Now 14 months later new memories are coming in. In my young days as a wife and mother I went through days of depression till I got counselling and was able to move forward with my life. I would put sad songs on. Now I am mature I think differently. I would do the opposite now and do things that make me feel happier and I surround myself with good things. Start with buying yourself flowers as often as you can. Flowers are a good start to nurture yourself, and try and build on this. some days will be good and some bad but let the bad days come and cry if you need to. One day your tears will get less and you will get your life back.
