Maddy, I love you always

by Kirsten

Maddy left me on the 28th of December 2011, the worst day of my life, and I have cried every night since. She entered my life 8 years ago, and has taught me so much over the years. You might be thinking 'It's only a horse', but she was not only my horse, she was my best friend and a member of my family.

She was 31 years old (about 93 in horse years), but no-one expected her to pass away, she was always so strong. She never retired or lost her spark. She was always the boss, both in the field and out.

Maddy, I will always love you. I can't put into words just how much I love you, and how much you have changed my life.

On behalf of everyone who met you I would like to say how much everyone loves you. You will never be forgotten. I know you are up in Heaven looking down on us all, laughing at us for crying, when you are galloping around Heaven.

You still help me in everything I do, not only in riding, but the way I look at things. You lived every day to the full, and that has had a real affect on me.

I can't thank you enough for always being there for me, Maddy. I love you always.

I am sorry to hear the loss of your horse. It is so easy to form a bond with horses. No doubt Maddy loved you as much as you loved her.
Give yourself a chance to heal. Losses are so hard to take and time is needed.
We are here for you whenever you want to talk. There is no easy way to recover from a loss as we must go through it. But God will help you. You had Maddy for a long time. And she was not ''only a horse.'' She was a beloved horse and a great companion too. And you made her life special.
Remember that God made Maddy and there will be animals in heaven. God said that the lion will lie down with the lamb. So you know you will see Maddy again. Take care and keep posting. We care.
