Motherless on Mothers Day

by Yolanda

No longer do I search for the perfect Mother's Day gift. You know the one...the one that showed mom how much you loved and appreciated her. Instead, I plan to visit to the cemetary. Its more about what kind of flowers do I bring and place in front of her stone. I must admit that I am envious of all the daughters who have their moms to buy for and to spend the day with. I know that I should be thankful for all the Mother's Days I did have and I do. But it makes me so sad that I dont have my mom for all the Mother's Days to come.

My mom just passed away the same day and year as yours, March 31, 2014. I am devastated and inconsolable. I have to live in her house with my dad because he can't be alone after 56 years of marriage to my mom. It's excruciating to live here because every corner of the house is her. Don't know if ill ever be the same. She was my best friend and I miss her so much! My condolences to you. You are not alone. I wish we both could have our mothers back. Take care of yourself.

Yolanda I am sorry for your loss of your mother. All of us who have lost our mother's still want them with us despite being thankful for all the Mother's Days we did have. As the generations evolve we will keep feeling the same way.
I lost my mother 11yrs. ago just before Mother's Day. I went out and bought so many gifts not realising that she had already died. I had to take these gifts back to the shop and this was so hard and painful to do.
I just lost my husband of 44yrs. 2yrs. ago and it is hard when Father's Day comes around and my 3 Adult children can no longer honour their father with a gift.
Now I get to see my 2 darling grandchildren give their Mother a gift for Mother's Day and this is so good to see these traditions honoured and remembered.
