Mother's Lament

by Tamara
(utah)

There is a place with in my mind,
A place I seldom go.
It is the place of memories,
Of the passing of my Joe.

That place is dark and filled with pain.
Regrets and grief abound.
"What if's" reign supremely there.
My spirit is weighed down.

Laughter seems a mockery,
And smiles are never seen.
Tears are the substance of this world.
My soul does wail and keen.

But in the center of this place
A mother sits forever.
Holding tight the son she bore.
She'll never let go.......ever!
