I am sorry for your loss of your beloved muffy the chinchilla.
As a former pet owner I am sorry for your loss and the pain you feel from losing a beloved pet. My experience leaves me feeling your pain. I loved my birds and when I lost any one of them my heart would break and my tears were not enough to comfort me. But I have lost all that pain, and left with the good memories.
Pets will leave us quicker than we had ever hoped. When we have a pet we should process the thought that they will one day die and we should take steps to prepare ourselves for this. It is very hard to not get attached to our pets. It is unavoidable. They are so adorable and our hearts melt when we see them. WE just fall in love with our pet. It is not easy.
God gave us these creatures for our comfort and pleasure but we have a duty to do to love them and when they leave us we then go on to love another pet so we are constantly giving out this love to a pet FOREVER. This is the way I am now looking at owning a pet. They are not FOREVER. They are in my life for a short time. This is how I cope with LOSS.
I hope you do get through your grief and loss and go on to give love to pets as long as you are able to. You might want to keep a PET JOURNAL. Logging all your experiences with each pet and you can read this and enjoy the memories forever.
