My best friend, my Mom

My mom, only 54 years old died on January 12, 2012. In 2003 she had a liver transplant where she nearly died. She recovered but had short term memory loss. Over the last 8 years her memory came back slowly but surely. She was finally becoming the woman I knew before the transplant. Regardless of her issues during those 8 years, we developed a wonderful relationship- she was not just my mom, she had become my best friend.
In June of last year, she had a grand mal seizure when she stopped breathing. My dad performed cpr and brought her back. The doctors said the brain damage from years earlier had left scar tissue contributing to her seizure and that she had probably ben having petite mal seizures for years bur noone had noticed. She was put on the highest dose of Kepra to prevent further seizures. In september or October she had another seizure, but came right out of it. Over the next couple monthd, there was no seizure activity, mom was feeling better than ever and she was increasingly active and happt. I just knew Mom was going to be okay, we all did.
On the morning of January 12 I got a call at school. Mom had suffered a severe nocturnal grand mal seizure and died in her sleep. I know with this medical history we shouldn't have been surprised, but we were shocked. She was fine just the night before- so happy sounding.
I miss her so much and really just don't know what to do. just writing this down does seem to help a little. Thanks for creating this site.
