My Darling Sylvia

My wife Sylvia and I had fifty wonderful years of marriage and for that I am grateful. She looked after me for months when I had a life threatening illness. (in 1990 the doctor's gave me two years to live at the most).
With her love and dedication she pulled me through it, but a few years ago began to get ill herself. She achieved the three things she wanted to do last year, We celebrated our Golden Wedding.
We went to the Queen's Garden Party.
We spent Christmas with my son and his wife.
One day while we were there my daughter Ruth, (who came with us to stay with our son Michael and his wife Andrea) stayed behind with Sylvia.
It was only after Sylvia died that Ruth told me Sylvia had told her that she "didn't have long to go".
We came home from our Christmas Holiday and a couple of days later Sylvia was rushed into hospital. She had Sepsis and the doctor's told me they didn't think she would last the night. All her major organs had failed and she was put on full life support. However she DID make the night and lived for another three months, but sadly passed away on March 14th.
