My Grandma [Audrey Longhurst]
On my dads side of the family there are two grandsons, me only granddaughter amd two great grandsons from the oldest grandson.
Tuesday November 10th, 730am, my grandma passed away in hospital. I already miss her. I'm a full grown adult, but she was my best friend and I lived close to her. Wow, I have really no clue what to say. Audrey Longhurst is now my guardian angel. She was loving and kind-hearted. Always made time for you, no matter what she was doing. Always baking her famous butter tarts.
You would think that a person in their thirties would be ok with all of this but it has hit me hard. I feel lost without her. You could go over to see her and up she would get from the chair and make a pot of tea and get out the baked goodies she always had. If you ended up there for dinner it was aways my fav meals. Cottage Roll. Potatos, gravy and what I called mushturnip and carrots mashed together, and homemade apple crisp for dessert.
That was her, always looking after others, tending to her family she loved very much so. Christmas this year will be tough; no grandma and her homemade christmas pudding.
But if she had the chance to still be living, it would not be very nice for her. Near the end she was in a lot of pain and was tired in every since of the word. She was struggling with Lupus and finally said that it was enough. She has now joined her husband in heaven; but a part of me still wants her here.
I love her soooo much.
